Welcome to Glen Iris Child Care and Kindergarten

Glen Iris Childcare and Kindergarten is an 82 place childcare and kindergarten service that has been a part of the Glen Iris community since our establishment in February 2015. We are part of the Trident Early Learning early childhood organisation.

Our high-quality childcare and kindergarten services cater to all children aged between 6 weeks and 6 years located throughout Glen Iris, Ashburton, Ashwood, Burwood, Camberwell and beyond. We are situated within the City of Boroondara council municipality, and are located on Wurundjeri country.

We are committed to providing children with the highest quality early childhood education and care. Our play-based learning program provides a balance of experiences to enhance and enrich each child's social, emotional, physical, creative, lingual, and intellectual development.

We aspire to create an environment that is warm, safe, fun and nurturing, which encourages a love of learning, and assists each child to reach their utmost potential.

We had our most recent Assessment and Rating Visit in February 2021 and are officially Meeting the National Quality Standard.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we live, play, learn and work – the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, and we pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. We wish to acknowledge and respect their continuing culture and the contribution they make to the life of this Land.

We have been at Glen Iris Childcare and Kindergarten for 8 years with two children. We love it because it’s such a good, intimate environment with small group sizes. The food is balanced but also what kids will eat and the staff just love the kids. It is a very warm and welcoming environment for small children.

We found the centre to be efficiently run, the staff are all communicative, professional and friendly. I believe they genuinely cared for my little boy's wellbeing and would recommend this centre.

The staff genuinely care about the children and parents, creating a nurturing atmosphere. I cannot recommend Glen Iris Childcare and Kindergarten enough. My two children have been going there since they were 5 months old and they absolutely love it. It is a safe and loving environment where they provide nutritional cooked meals and snacks daily and I feel their well being is always looked after.
They have a smile on their face at drop off and pick up and the educators
are compliant with any requests I may have.

Glen Iris Child Care and Kindergarten have been phenomenal for my family and I for the past 2+ years as care providers. The team and directors are caring, knowledgeable individuals who go above and beyond to ensure my little one is well cared for. It’s heartening to know that by the care they provide that it’s not just a job for them but they genuinely care for all the children in their care. I've seen them navigate tough times such as lockdown with grace. The activities being done have been great and I find that they are both enjoyable and enriching. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

Glen Iris Childcare and Kindergarten has been and continues to be an absolute blessing for our family! Since beginning in December 2023, our now almost 2yo has gone from experiencing significant separation anxiety, to happily giving me (or her dad) a hug goodbye and heading to play with her favourite toys. She knows all of the educators (and children) by name and becomes genuinely excited when she sees them. The staff at Glen Iris are like family and it really shows! We are so happy and grateful to see our little lady thrive.

Put simply, Glen Iris Childcare and Kindergarten cares. They go over and above to support your child,
but also the parents, too. There is very little staff turnover and my kids are happy.
It feels like a personal experience when dealing with Glen Iris.

Our son is in the toddler group and he has just blossomed. He started last September for one day and we’ve increased to two and he enjoys all the activities. He has become more independent at home. You get photo updates which we love and all the staff are friendly and approachable. We looked at a couple places but we just knew after meeting Mel and her team. They are genuine, caring, kind and so helpful and they always tell us how Jack has gone that day. We’ve always felt reassured and welcome and the staff all seem to know all the kids names when you arrive - that is a skill in itself!
