Language Program

At our centre, we are fortunate to have many wonderful Educators who speak multiple languages. This diversity allows us to create a rich, inclusive environment that supports every child's language development.

While English is the primary language used for singing songs, reading books, and engaging in conversations with the children, we also enjoy sharing songs and words in the home languages of our Educators. This not only introduces children to new sounds and cultures, but also fosters respect and curiosity for different languages.

Our four-year-old Kindergarten Teacher further supports language development by introducing children to basic Auslan (Australian Sign Language), helping them build communication skills in an inclusive way.

In addition, our Kinder 3 and Kinder 4 programs participate in the Government’s ELLA (Early Learning Languages Australia) initiative. We have chosen to explore Mandarin through this program, where children learn simple words, numbers, colours, and phrases in a fun and engaging way.

Upon enrolment, families are invited to share background information about their child, including the languages spoken at home. They are also encouraged to provide a list of basic words in their home language that we can incorporate into their child's daily routine. This helps us to promote continuity of language development between home and the centre, and ensures each child feels recognised, supported, and confident.
